Arrival in Germany

Arrived in Frankfurt after a long direct flight from Oakland, CA with wife, Doris, and cat, Emma (named after Emma Goldman). We were all fine although somewhat exhausted after the day’s ordeal. Emma seemed ok but was probably completely disoriented because she was in the cat carrier for such a long time. Only for 15 minutes or so during the flight did she try to get out of the carrier. This happened during a time of turbulence.

We took the train from Frankfurt to Stuttgart. Our luggage did not arrive with us but remained in Frankfurt or somewhere else, perhaps on another flight from California. We headed out west for Horn where we were going to stay for awhile before moving to our apartment in Schwäbisch Gmünd.

Horn is a tiny town of about 200 inhabitants in Baden-Württemberg and is about 20 minutes west of Schwäbisch Gmünd. It has more cows than inhabitants and is in a beautiful region of the country.

What would Germany have in store for us?
