Germany's loss and pop culture

Germany lost two days ago to Italy and many of the flags are gone now. People were bummed out but seem to be dealing with it ok by thinking that at least they got as far as they did. Germany plays Portugal on Saturday for the third/fourth place.

I'm interested in seeing whether there will still be many flags in larger cities, like Stuttgart. I'm also interested in seeing how long Klinsmann will stay as the German team coach. There has already been some talk that he should go. He brought all these far out American ideas, psychology and the like to the German team, he lives half of each month in Southern Cal, he's just too much for many Germans and they might use the team's recent defeat to force him out. Will he go to the American team to be there head coach? Some people are already writing that this might be a possibility.

Will the World Cup have a lingering effect on Germany? Some have written about how flexible it seems to have made the Germans, how having a good time became very important. Only time will tell what the effect will be on pop culture. I can see the Fantastischen Fier doing a great song about Germany, Klinsmann and the World Cup. By the way, they are coming out with a new album supposedly this year after several years absence. And for those wanting to know more check out the link!
