World's only Shadow Theater Festival

Gmund has the world's only international shadow theater festival and it is going on right now for two weeks. Troupes from all over the world are here to perform. We saw a Thai theater company performance Wednesday night called: "The Tale of the Mekong River." Although some of the scenes were magnificent overall the performance was mixed. The story line never really became clear. Certain scenes were repeated at different intervals to not so great effect. The production took place in the theater in the Prediger Museum, the principal art and history museum in town. It is a grand old building located near the central square.
