Trip to the dentist

I don't know about you but I look upon a trip to the dentist with enormous fear and loathing. I always hope to avoid it but when that is no longer possible I pray it goes as quickly as possible. With, of course, no pain.

Well, I went to the dentist yesterday and try as I could I did not understand what they said they were going to do. So, I sat down and waited and low and behold I was first given an injection to numb my entire upper mouth. Then, they put in some filling material at the base of several teeth. I guess the concern was that the gums had receded too much and that the filling was necessary. Who knows. I've never heard of this procedure. I go back next week to have the same done to some of the lower teeth.

The teeth cleaning also took on surreal dimensions. After filing everything down they use some sort of drill that emits a saline water solution when turned on. Before using this equipment though they actually give you a big pair of goggles to wear. As it turns out your face gets completely sprayed, hence the necessity of the goggles. I though I might start seeing everything in 3D and maybe enjoy the experience but no they just want your eyes to be protected as you are showered by the solution. Very bizarre. At the end they suggest that you wash your face which of course I hastily complied with.
