Germany and the Euro

Slovenia started using the Euro on Jan. 1 and is the thirteenth European country to adopt it. There is still much resentment in many European countries towards the Euro, especially in Germany. Many people here believe that prices doubled when the Euro was adopted and Germany is the most Euro skeptic country in Europe. Many Germans want the Deutsche Mark back. They believe this would make their lives cheaper and their economy stronger.
