Germany dealing with RAF past

Germany has been dealing with its RAF past lately. The authorities recently released Brigitte Mohnhaupt, a former RAF member, who was in prison for 24 years. And they considered preparing Christian Klar, another RAF member, for freedom. He has been in prison also for 24 years. Because Klar showed no remorse for what he and the RAF did, however, this decision has been denied. Klar has also asked the German President, Horst Köhler, for an official pardon. This has set off much discussion in German media about the RAF, what it stood for, the violence it caused and whether Klar should be eligible for a pardon.
