Speed limits on the autobahn

The German government is actually considering speed limits on the autobahn as a way to cut down global warming. You can drive as fast as you want on the autobahn. Germany is the only country in the world that permits this and many people come here just to experience it.

The limit would be 150km per hour. This is about 93 miles an hour. Many people, however, do not think that the politicians will dare to touch something as sacrosanct as unlimited driving speeds. They feel they are too concerned about keeping their political positions and getting reelected than with taking an unpopular, environmental stand.
