Situation faced by some East German women
The job situation is so dire in East Germany that some women living there have taken to including medical certificates that state they are sterilized with their job applications. Women all over Germany face tremendous difficulties at workplaces during their childbearing years. Employers simply won't often hire these women especially if they happen to be married. They feel that eventually they will get pregnant and then take the three months off after giving birth and who will replace them? To get around this aversion on the part of employers some East German women are taking extreme measures: getting sterilized.

wow you've got to be kidding. Have you seen the birthrates of europe, they're falling off a cliff. Meanwhile, America is having babies like there is no tomorrow.
European civilization seems to have ended with what americans call ww2, When you think about, every major european writer, continental, writer, kafka, Nietzsche, Flaubert, Dostoevsky, Kierkegaard, the list goes on and on, each and every one saw the coming disaster. The dadaists for instance said nothing other than: the sky is falling. And guess what? It fell. Game over. By the end of ww2 major cities reduced to rubble, every single state, formerly the great powers rivaling one another to control the colonial material resource, they were all bankrupt, every single ounce of gold and silver deposited in the US to buy war material. They destroyed one another. It's really quite amazing. And rarely described in such simple terms. But it is the fact.
In context or which, the falling birth rate is understandable. Comparable: Japan's birth rate. There's nothing like self destruction to take away the purpose of reproduction.
Of course, capitalism gets into the game, with the european corporations following the lead of the americans. People need to shake our chains off our shoulders and . . . .
