Royal meets Merkel

Segolene Royal met Chancellor Merkel in Berlin yesterday and it was pronounced afterward that a lot of female bonding took place. Royal is the Socialist Party candidate running to be President. Her campaign has been lackluster and shaky for months. Merkel is from Germany's CDU party which is much to the right of the Socialists. The two have little if anything but their gender in common. Their parties have even less in common. The photo ops were severely limited and Merkel chose to not give a joint press conference.
