For all you doc film buffs out there....
For all you doc film buffs out there I've experienced a tremendous adventure. I've been searching for a release form in German to use for video interviews. This is a standard form which interviewees have to sign or else you cannot get your film distributed in the States and I had always thought elsewhere. I've been over the proverbial mountaintop many times now during this search always coming down empty handed until today. It will take too long to relate the whole adventure so I will tell more of it tomorrow or the succeeding days. Suffice it to say, in Germany people don't use release forms. Legally, if someone sits down in front of your camera and gives you an interview, this in itself gives you all rights to the interview and permission to use it for your film. Is it only Americans that ask to see signed release forms before permitting films to be theatrically released or broadcast?
